Dschinghis Khan: MoskauDschinghis Khan was a German pop band, created in 1979 to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest. Pronounced "Jingis" Khan, it's an English translation of "Genghis Khan." The name of the band was chosen to fit a song of the same name that they performed in the competition.
Not only does the breakdancer bust out the magic hands, he goes to new realms of awesomeness with a fresh style that can only be described as Cirque Du Soleil meets caffeine meets Napoleon Dynamite. Just watch his breathtaking moves, if you're into disco breakdancing. They appeared at the height of the disco boom, and achieved wide popularity throughout the world, especially in Europe, Russia, Australia and Japan, though they went wholly unnoticed in the United States. Their songs invariably were themed on historical figures and exotic cultures and locales... including Moskau (Moscow). The group has enjoyed a recent resurgence in popularity on the Internet due to the discovery of a video of them performing their hit song Moskau, as seen here. The video and the song associated with it have become a popular topic on blogs and can be considered an Internet fad. And as such a fad, unusual dubbing has been done, expecially with the lyrics, as can be seen with the other version posted here.
