Peaches En Regalia

Found legendary musician Frank Zappa's "Peaches En Regalia" from his 1969 'Hot Rats' album, but in a slightly different version from the live concert copies. This video was produced by Zappa from his own home movies: "It's a HONKER Home Video"... this one is Zappa at his absolute peak of absurdity!

Frank Zappa was a true master of the absurd in our society. In 1982, he released "Valley Girl" on his own Barking Pumpkins label as a satire of California's shopping mall culture, which he saw becoming a trend that he felt would follow for years... as it did. The recording reached #32 in the Billboard Hot 100, and featured his then 14-year-old daughter, Moon Unit. You can see a mini-documentary about that song and video here.

Frank Zappa was a brilliant, talented and outspoken proponent of creativty and free speech. This is an amazing snapshot into what he did. Thanks for posting this reminder of a man who left us way too soon.

cool video! I like his other kid's name: Dweezell - sounds smoother than Moon Unit, ha ha!
